Walden Federal to Open Second Branch

in Monroe-Woodbury

 

New Walden Federal branch will open in June

inside the ShopRite on Route 17M, Monroe

 

May 15, 2006, Walden, NY – Walden Federal is opening its fifth branch this spring and its second one in Monroe-Woodbury.  The new branch is scheduled to open in June inside the ShopRite on Route 17M.  Walden Federal opened its branch in the Wal Mart Super Center in Monroe in 2000.  John P. Wells, Branch Relationship Manager for the bank’s Wal Mart location, will also manage the new branch in ShopRite.

 

“Supermarket banking offers the ultimate convenience to customers,” stated Thomas Gibney, President.  “Walden Federal’s new branch inside the Monroe ShopRite will complement our existing and successful branch inside the Wal Mart Super Center on the other side of town.  This makes it even easier for Monroe-Woodbury residents and businesses to bank with a hometown bank.”

 

The new branch will offer all the banking services available in the other four Walden Federal branches, including free checking (with a gift); CDs; money market accounts; mortgages and loans; home equity loans; and business banking services.  ShopRite customers will be able to take advantage of Walden Federal’s special home mortgage programs – Finance First, where home buyers can obtain a mortgage commitment before they house hunt, giving them added buying power; and 100% PLUS Financing, which allows home buyers to purchase a home with very little money down.

Walden Federal is in the process of hiring staff for the new branch.  A Grand Opening celebration is being planned for later in the summer.
